ABOUT 480

(Specifically me, Krista)

Krista’s life experiences are part of what sets her apart from other consultants: she’s not just giving you guidance, she’s lived many of your problems herself.
Being able be empathetic versus sympathetic allows her to bring a real-world approach to consulting, helping you balance business and life.
Krista’s first real work experience outside of assorted high school jobs was as a server at a country club in college. She still looks back on this time as the place where she learned the most about life and operations. After spending a few years serving, she was promoted to manager where she got a boots to the ground, jump off into the deep end lesson in operations, HR, employee management, and creating a phenomenal experience for members. She takes these operational lessons with her to this day (and still wonders how on earth a group of people trusted her at 21 to handle all of it!)

After earning her Bachelor’s of Science, Business Management, she began her adult career as a Financial Advisor. Here, she also had a real deep-dive into investment management, taxation, and financial planning that she still uses to create financial projections and a playbook for her clients. Here’s where the story gets real interesting: she was offered a partnership track, and instantly felt like it was the wrong path in life. Instead of it being one of the highlights of her young career, she felt lost. The little girl who always wanted to be an entrepreneur felt trapped into something that was not her passion. So she did what any reasonable person would do….she quit her job and bought a mini golf course.

Yes, you read that right. Krista and her husband purchased a mini golf and ice cream shop in a touristy part of Northeast Indiana and promptly got to work. An ice cream shop in the downtown of a mid-size city an hour away soon followed. Krista was immersed in all things business and loving every minute of it. One thing continued to stick out to her, though, and that was the fact that if she hadn’t been in investment management or been given the level of responsibility at the country club, she would have been so lost starting up. In fact, she still was lost even with that experience! She had a friend reach out for some help with her own start-up, and the rest is history.

Krista fell in love with helping other small business owners on the parts of entrepreneurship that just aren’t so fun and often times, very confusing. She was excited to be on the other end of a transaction in Fall 2023 when she sold the ice cream shop and started to focus full-time on 480 Strategies.

Family and work-life balance is very important to Krista, especially now as a mother of a toddler. She can’t wait to work with you and help you achieve your dreams in the most efficient manner, all while helping you to feel good when you go home at the end of the day.
